Today is the beginning of a new year, and some people are all about that “New year, new me” bullshit. But hey, let’s be honest for a bit, you’re not going to hold onto those resolutions you made yesterday, because there’s a little thing named “Life” that interferes every goddamn time. I don’t mean to be pessimistic, I am actually one of the most optimistic people out there, but I am also a realist (I know, this is a huge paradox, but hey, that’s what humanity is all about. God, I should just cut that philosophic BS, I’m starting to sound like Paulo Coelho, ugh! Sorry for people who love Coelho.) Anyway, what I was saying is, instead of making a list of new year’s resolutions that I will probably forget after napping for 5 hours this afternoon (and waking up with a ticking bomb in my head, because long naps are atrocious.), I decided to write about the 12 things this year taught me. So, all abroad the cheesy train, here we come!1- Always be yourself: I know, I know, it sounds extremely cliché, but hear me, even I have the right to be cheesy sometimes. I’ve spent a long time trying to hide myself from people, to be invisible, doing my best not to attract attention, and to please everyone. I learnt one single thing from all of this: You’re never going to be liked by everyone, so screw it, and be unapologetically yourself. |
